No acting: Denzel's great

I will watch Denzel Washington pitch deodorant. If Denzel is in a commercial for tooth paste, I'm not switching the channel.

Christian Bale is an incredible actor. I'm a big fan. But Denzel Washington is my favorite actor. I just watched "The Little Things" because he's in it. "The Little Things" isn't a great movie, but it does have great performances from Rami Malek and Jared Leto. And Washington, of course.

He's always great. He's fantastic when he's the hero, like in "The Equalizer" and "The Equalizer 2." He's also fantastic when he plays a corrupt Los Angeles cop, like he was in "Training Day."

Here are some of his other gems: "Glory," "Malcolm X," "Remember the Titans," "Philadelphia" and "Crimson Tide." To name just a few. Also a director and producer, Washington has the rare ability to transport you into his world, no matter the setting or circumstance.

The guy who starred in "American Gangster" is an American treasure. Let's hope Washington, 66, has many great years of acting ahead.
