Welcome to The Show

Hey, I'm Barry Scanlon. I've been a sports editor at newspapers in three New England states - Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine. (Connecticut, Vermont and Rhode Island, you're next).

I am also an avid runner - note I said avid, not fast - who has run 11 marathons: Boston seven times, and Disney, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Chicago once each. Warning: If you find yourself next to me in a race, be prepared to talk. I am a proud member of the E Streeters, a running group filled with true characters.

I am also a huge Bruce Springsteen fan. I've seen The Boss in concert 70 times (and counting) and in three countries. Look for a lot of hockey content, but anything is fair game. Let's have some fun.
